Josiah Sutton, Houston Police Department DNA Laboratory

The erroneous interpretation of polymarker and DQA results lead to the conviction of Josiah Sutton. The unraveling of this case, with the ultimate release of Sutton from jail, is described in a report by William Thompson (Thompson report, original Sutton lab report). This case was the tip of the iceberg for the Houston PD DNA Lab which was ultimately closed to sort out their nnumerous problems.
